Charlton Medical is committed to providing a safe workplace for our wonderful team and to continually improving our clinical care of patients through constant updates and training. Every year our staff participate in a Staff Development Day where we learn new skills and practise old ones. We thought you might like to see some behind-the-scenes pictures!
Learning First Aid as a practice allows us to strengthen our team and have fun together. It also allows us to master equipment relevant to the practice setting including the use of the practice defibrillator as well as using a bag valve mask ventilator for CPR instead of mouth-to-mouth. The manual resuscitator is part of the practice’s resuscitation equipment and the annual training ensures that we all stay familiar with its use.
We all hope we’ll never need to use the skills we learn during our Staff Development Days, but if that emergency does occur, we’ll be ready.
