Charlton Medical was delighted to receive a visit from Joy Freeman recently, her arms filled with teddies lovingly knitted by members of Charlton’s Red Cross.
Over a million children have cuddled a trauma teddy since the Red Cross first started knitting them over 30 years ago and Charlton Medical has been pleased to use them to give comfort and security to our youngest patients in times when they might be frightened or in pain. The Red Cross hand knits around 50,000 teddies each year, and you can learn more about this valuable program here. Speak to reception if you would like to contact Joy about Charlton’s Red Cross group.
Thank you, Joy. We are delighted to be able find new homes for these lovely new arrivals.
