Welcome, Dr Lisa

We are pleased to introduce Dr Lisa Bendtsen, our new lady doctor.

Dr Bendtsen will be visiting Charlton Medical every six weeks as part of the Federally funded Rural Women’s GP Program, administered by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.  She is new to the practice in 2022, taking over from Dr Vivienne Whitechurch who is now enjoying her retirement. Dr Lisa’s next visit to Charlton Medical will be on 1st and 2nd of March. A few appointments are still available and you can book by phone or using the HealthEngine app.

The aim of the Rural Women’s GP Program is to improve access to primary and secondary health services for women in rural and remote Australia where there is little or no access to a female doctor.  This program has a specific focus on women’s health, including (but not limited to) cervical cancer screening, breast examinations, cardiovascular health, diabetes, menopause, psychological issues, social issues and areas related to reproductive and sexual health.

Lisa has a wide variety of medical interests including women’s health, sports medicine, and paediatrics. When she’s not working, Lisa enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and cycle touring. We hope you enjoy getting to know her as much as we are.
