Charlton Medical is a private general practice co-located with East Wimmera Health Service in Charlton. Our doctors are committed to providing patient-centred care for your whole family and maintain high moral and ethical standards.
Our doctors work closely with local healthcare providers and supply GP services to residents of the local aged care facility and care to in-patients at East Wimmera Health Service. The doctors participate in an on-call roster with practices in surrounding towns providing urgent medical care overnight and on weekends.
Charlton Medical provides high quality clinical education to GP registrars and medical students and supports the ongoing professional development of all our staff.
Charlton Medical has been offering general practice services to the Charlton community and the surrounding region since 2002. We are committed to providing you the city standard of medicine you deserve but with the standard of care that you would expect from our close and friendly Mallee town. The practice is fully accredited with AGPAL (Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited) and meets the standards of quality and safety set out in the RACGP Standards of General Practices 5th Edition.

Our routine hours are 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00 am – 1:00 pm on Fridays. There may be occasions when these alter or the surgery is closed. A taped message will advise of these changes and we will also attempt to notify you on Facebook and with a sign visible from outside the practice. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

There will always be a doctor on-call when the practice is closed. You can access this 24 hour service by calling East Wimmera Health Service on (03) 5477 6800.
On weekends Dr Webb participtes in an on-call roster with doctors from surrounding towns. Phone the hospital for details.
You may contact your doctor by telephone during normal clinic hours. The doctor will always talk to you immediately if it is an emergency. For less critical communication the secretary will take a message and the doctor will return your call between consultations or at the end of the session. Often a member of our administration team will be able to help you with your enquiry directly.
Please remember that email and social media are not secure ways to transmit private or confidential information. If you send information by these methods the receptionists will add the information to your file and delete your original message. Any replies will be by telephone or mail.
You will find Charlton Medical co-located with the hospital on Learmonth Street. Please turn right just inside the front doors.
Car parking is available on the road outside but please feel free to drive in and drop family members off at the front door. Disabled parking spaces are available as is parking space for electric scooters and bicycles. We are only a short walk from the main shopping area.
A wheelchair is available for use by those with limited mobility. Please speak to reception.
