We are pleased to introduce Dr Susanne Oldmeadow, our new lady doctor.
Dr Oldmeadow will be visiting Charlton Medical every six weeks as part of the Federally funded Rural Women’s GP Program, administered by the Royal Flying Doctor Service. She is new to the practice in 2023, taking over from Dr Lisa Bendsen who has taken on work in practices closer to her home. Dr Susanne’s first visit to Charlton Medical will be on 23rd and 24th of August. A few appointments are still available and you can book by phone or using the HealthEngine app.
The aim of the Rural Women’s GP Program is to improve access to primary and secondary health services for women in rural and remote Australia where there is little or no access to a female doctor. This program has a specific focus on women’s health, including (but not limited to) cervical cancer screening, breast examinations, cardiovascular health, diabetes, menopause, psychological issues, social issues and areas related to reproductive and sexual health.
Dr Susanne has a wide variety of medical interests including family medicine and is passionate about all aspects of IVF and assisted reproductive medicine. She is also interested in the social conditions that influence health. Outside of work Dr Susanne loves spending time outdoors and enjoys swimming and ballroom dancing.
